  • Vandalism to the Ethan Pond Trail (Appalachian Trail) sign in the New Hampshire White Mountains. A hiker has scratched out “Ethan Pond” and carved the Appalachian trail symbol into the sign. The photo is from October 2017.

  • May 2016 - Vandalism done to the monument at the Mt. Willard Section House. It was recently discovered that vandals scratched the Evans family out of the monument. The Willard Section House site is located along the old Maine Central Railroad, next to the Willey Brook Trestle, in Crawford Notch. It was built in 1887 to house the section foreman and crew who  maintained Section 139 of the railroad. From 1903-1942, the Hattie Evans family lived at the house. And it was razed in 1972.

  • September 2013 #2 - View of illegal tree cutting on Mt Tecumseh in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire. Unauthorized cutting of trees on National Forest land is considered vandalism, and it has become a problem on Mt Tecumseh. Forest Service has verified this cutting is unauthorized, and they are trying to determine who is doing it.

Many hikers bushwack this area when hiking to Owl's Head Mountain. And more than likely this trail was cut and blazed by hikers.

  • Franconia Notch State Park - The old U.S. Route 3 bridge which crosses over Lafayette Brook in the White Mountains, New Hampshire USA during the autumn months. This bridge is closed to traffic and is part of the multi-use Franconia Notch Bike Path.

  • May 2013 - A tree wound on a yellow birch tree along the Mt Tecumseh Trail in New Hampshire. This wound is the result of man not properly removing a painted trail marker (blaze) from the tree. The blaze was painted on the tree in 2011, and then improperly removed from the tree in the spring of 2012. The bark, where the blaze was, was cut and peeled away creating a tree wound.

  • Burned artifact (utility pole) in the area of Camp 15 along the old railroad bed of the East Branch & Lincoln Railroad in the Pemigewasset Wilderness in Lincoln, New Hampshire. The EB&L Railroad was a logging railroad in operation from 1893 - 1948. In 2011, this utility pole was knocked down by campers and then burned in their campfire. It was one of only a handful of utility poles still standing along this railroad.

  • Crawford Notch State Park - Artifact (leather boot) at the Willey House Station site which is located at Milepost 80.8 along the old Maine Central Railroad in the White Mountains, New Hampshire. History states that this section house was closed in 1966. And because of ongoing vandalism and being a safety hazard the railroad burned it down in the 1980s.
