  • Artifacts at Camp 24B of the East Branch & Lincoln Railroad in the Cedar Brook drainage of the Pemigewasset Wilderness in Lincoln, New Hampshire USA. The East Branch & Lincoln Railroad was a logging railroad that operated from 1893-1948. And this camp was established during the Parker-Young Company logging era.

  • The Carter Place home site along Sandwich Notch Road in Sandwich, New Hampshire. During the early nineteenth century, thirty to forty families lived in the Notch. By 1860 only eight families lived in the Notch and by the turn of the twentieth century only one person, Moses Hall, lived in the Notch year around.

  • This artifact (part of a tea cup) is possibly remnants of the old Flume Reservation in Lincoln, New Hampshire. The site of the old Flume Reservation is located in the general area of today's Flume Gorge Visitor area. This is how the artifact was found; artifacts, like this tea cup, are protected and should be left where they are found.

  • Wetlands area along the Franconia Brook Trail during the autumn months in the Pemigewasset Wilderness of Lincoln, New Hampshire. Storm clouds can be seen over the southern end of Owls Head is in the distance. A spur line of the old East Branch & Lincoln Logging Railroad (1893-1948) traveled through this area.

  • Storm damage from Tropical Storm Irene along Route 302 near the start of Crawford Notch State Park in the White Mountains, NH.During the storm, the wooden bridge that crossed this small dam was torn off its support and dragged down stream. It can be seen in the background. This tropical storm caused destruction along the East Coast of the United States.

  • Flume Brook at Flume Gorge in Franconia Notch, New Hampshire on a cloudy winter day. The Flume is a natural gorge, and the walls are made up of Conway Granite. During the Flume Gorge’s normal operating schedule (usually May-October), by use of a boardwalk, visitors can walk through the gorge; this boardwalk is removed during the closed season.

  • An old dam on Gibbs Brook near Crawford Path in the New Hampshire White Mountains during the spring months. This dam and piping system (out of sight) supplied water to the old Crawford House. The Crawford House was located where the AMC Highland Center is today. When the Crawford House rebuilt this dam in the 1960s, they reinforced the dam with old iron cots that were in the basement of the Crawford House. These iron cots can be seen in the dam today

  • Diana's Baths in Bartlett, New Hampshire USA during the winter months. Diana's Baths is a series of small cascades located on Lucy Brook. Remnants of the old 1800s “Lucy's Mill” can be found in this area. The Lucy family owned this sawmill, and they abandoned it in the 1940s.
