Title: Fort Foster - Kittery, Maine
Description: Fire Control Tower at Fort Foster Park on Gerrish Island in Kittery, Maine. This fort was first established in 1873, but the first battery on this site was never completed. In the late 1890s, construction began on a new battery, and in 1900 this fort was named for Major General John G. Foster (Civil War). The fort closed in 1948.
