Artifact (possibly part of an old snubbing winch or steam donkey) along an abandoned sled road high on the side of Mount Blue in Kinsman Notch in the White Mountains, New Hampshire. This area was logged by the Gordon Pond Railroad, which was a logging railroad in operation from 1907-1916. The removal of historic artifacts from federal lands without a permit is a violation of federal law. This is how the artifact was found.
