Appalachian Trail - Greenleaf Hut from North Lafayette in the White Mountains, New Hampshire. Eagle Lake is in the foreground. Part of the Appalachian Mountain Club's (AMC) hut system, Greenleaf Hut was the first hut in the AMC hut system to have running water and indoor toilets. Built with funds donated by Col. Charles H. Greenleaf (longtime owner of the Flume and Profile House properties), the legendary Joe Dodge (1898-1973) supervised the building of the hut; it opened in July 1930.
