Description: Lakes of the Clouds Hut, seen here in the early 2000s, along the Appalachian Trail (Crawford Path) in the White Mountains, New Hampshire. Originally built in 1915, and operated by the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC), Lakes of the Clouds Hut is the highest and largest hut in the AMC hut system. This seasonal hut is named for the alpine tarns located next to the hut.
