Henry and Sons attempted to use a narrow-gauge line at logging Camp 8 to harvest timber from the slopes of Whaleback Mountain. It lasted only for a few years and was discontinued after a brakeman was killed when a loaded log car ran out control down the track. With the exception of this line, the EB&L Railroad was a standard gauge railroad.](https://archive.scenicnh.com/img-get/I0000MBz1nhj8NC0/s/700/600/NH184274.jpg)
