Description: The Thoreau Falls Trail bridge site days after Tropical Storm Irene in 2011. The bridge is supported by two large trees, and high waters from Irene caused peeling to the bottom of the footbridge. It crosses the East Branch of the Pemigewasset River in the Pemigewasset Wilderness of New Hampshire Update: the bridge seen in this photograph is no longer standing, and hikers now have to ford this water crossing.
