Greenleaf Hut on the side of Mount Lafayette covered in snow during whiteout conditions. This seasonal hut is closed during the winter months. Part of the Appalachian Mountain Club's (AMC) hut system, Greenleaf Hut was the first hut in the AMC hut system to have running water and indoor toilets. Built with funds donated by Col. Charles H. Greenleaf (longtime owner of the Flume and Profile House properties), the legendary Joe Dodge (1898-1973) supervised the building of the hut; it opened in July 1930.
